Brake related particles effects on pollution

The University of Birmingham published an article about an ongoing study into the contribution of particulate matter to polar climate change.

Scientists are studying the impact of airborne particles such as the non-exhaust particles (NEE) from road traffic.  Non-exhaust particles are released by brakes, road surface and road dust from vehicle’s motion regardless of the vehicle type or its mode of power. NEE contributes to health problems  and premature mortality, yet there is no legislation to combat such emissions.
