First steps towards digital transformation
The fourth industrial revolution or industry 4.0, is changing how industries operate and, therefore, processes and revolution solutions focused on efficiency and innovation.
More than 6 years have passed since we decided to take risks and move towards a process of digital transformation.
We started our journey with simple actions such as eliminating paper in manufacturing processes, accessing information in real-time at all levels with the implementation of Cloud Computing, and adapting all the organization’s reports to Google Drive.
Since then we have not stopped generating and applying actions that have allowed us to obtain positive benefits for our company.

Why is industry 4.0 important for us?
Being part of this new revolution can improve operations and therefore the growth of our business, improving the supply chain and the expectations of our clients.
Our first 3 steps
Identify the problem: We identified three major problems in our production process: high stock of raw material, the high stock of the intermediate product, and redundant CC system.
The seven wastes: We decided to implement actions in an orderly manner and make small changes that can make big differences, these are:
Lean manufacturing: We established this methodology throughout our organization, committing ourselves to establish simple and complex actions over time. Here are the most important ones:
- Elimination of paper in the manufacturing and installation processes of “Mes MRP”.
- Maximum integration of information at all levels with real-time updates.
- Modification of communication flows to make them more fluid and horizontal.
- Migration to platforms such as cloud computing.
Also, we were able to exploit the Google Drive tool at a user level, which will keep us in real collaboration and take advantage of the great advantages that this tool offers us. The ones we value the most are:
- Real collaborative environment
- Configurable access levels
- Evolutionary SaaS Suite
- Flexibility and learning
Finally, with these actions, we managed to improve in 3 aspects: service level, costs, and turnover.
