Rimsa installs photovoltaic panels

The energy generated for self-consumption reduces our carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by around 21 tons / year

At the beginning of January, coinciding with the return of the Christmas holidays, we started the photovoltaic energy installation that will allow us to reduce the carbon footprint of our factory through the generation and supply of clean energy.

Taking advantage of the available surface area on the roof of our industrial warehouses, an initial installation of 70 kWp has been carried out with the aim of achieving renewable electricity generation of around 95 MWh per year.

In the first four months of 2020, this facility has already generated more than 20 MWh, of which more than 75% have been for the self-consumption of our production processes and auxiliary facilities. These levels have allowed us to reach solar coverage of over 45% at specific times.

In order to get the most out of this installation, this project consists of a real-time monitoring and management system that, in addition to controlling the correct operation of the installation itself, will allow us to implement new efficiency measures to continue reducing energy costs.
