Microfibres of various materials mainly improve the non-structural characteristics of the matrices. They reduce plastic shrinkage cracking in mortars and concretes while contributing to the mechanical behaviour in synthetic matrices. In pre-dosed mortars it allows the adjustment of rheological parameters. They improve the final finish and are imperceptible, so they are used in top coats. Additionally, they provide medium protection during the occurrence of a fire and modify insulating properties.
