At RIMSA, our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility is a fundamental pillar of our philosophy. We are extremely pleased to announce that we have obtained the “Calculo y Reduzco” (Calculate and Reduce) seal for the year 2022, granted by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge of Spain.
This distinction recognizes our efforts in measuring, registering, and, most importantly, effectively reducing our carbon footprint. Obtaining this seal is the result of a rigorous process of calculating and verifying our CO2 emissions.
What does the “Calculo y Reduzco” seal mean for RIMSA?
The seal is composed of two key elements:
- “Calculo” (Calculate): We confirm the measurement and registration of our carbon footprint for the year 2022, covering scopes 1 and 2. This includes the manufacturing activities of ferrous and non-ferrous fibers, wools, and shavings carried out at our sole headquarters in Sant Feliu de Llobregat (Barcelona).
- “Reduzco” (Reduce): We have demonstrated a significant reduction in our emissions. Specifically, we have achieved an 8.33% reduction in emission intensity during the 2020-2022 triennium compared to the 2019-2021 triennium, for scopes 1+2. This achievement reflects the effectiveness of the measures implemented to optimize our processes and minimize our environmental impact.
At RIMSA, we are convinced that a sustainable future is built day by day, through concrete actions and a firm commitment. This seal is another step on our path towards operational and environmental excellence, reinforcing our position as innovative leaders in friction, reinforcement fibers, and energy materials.
We will continue to work with the same dedication to further reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a cleaner and healthier planet.
“This recognition reflects the collective effort of the entire RIMSA team and our firm belief in the importance of sustainability. We will continue to innovate to minimize our environmental impact and offer cutting-edge solutions.” – Vanesa Trenas, Quality and Sustainability Manager
